Wearables
On far too many occasions, I have felt like an object by the way men have looked at, spoken to, and interacted with me. I seem to be just nameless, empty flesh upon which men project their fantasies. For so long now, women have only been allowed to occupy a space in which their value is dependent on the appearance of their bodies, and whether or not that appeals to the opposite sex. To some men, a woman's value begins and ends with this mind set. My work seeks to take charge of both my body and those of other women, by focusing on these interactions with men. I use the female human figure to speak about my own history and the objectification of all women.
